October 2006 Exhibition

Abbey Road
John Poley, who built Abbey Road (OO), with the Keith Purbrook Trophy for the most appealing layout, as voted by members of the public. Voting was very close, with Abbey Road one vote ahead of Basingstoke which was one ahead of Hartsbridge.

Albany

The "Drive Your Own Train" DDC operated Albany Garden Railway was very popular.



Emsdale

Emsdale is a small N gauge layout set on a Midlands line near the GWR.

Above and below, Glyn Valley Tramway, a OO9 layout depicting Glynceriog station on the line between Chirk and the granite quarries.

Kunze Brucke

A layout made up from Triang trains and Minic motorways with the cars stopping for the trains to go past, it got a lot of interest both from the young and those who remembered having Triang and Minic when they were young.





UK Train Sim whose stand featured the first UK demonstration of a new simulator, as well as several new routes for other simulators.




Above and below, Welton Down, a 2mm scale layout set south of London in the downs around 1995.






Above and two below, Winbury, an O gauge layout of a branch terminus, built by the REC club to allow a wide variety of member's stock to be run.







Above and below, WW2 Study Group, who collect and publish information on the operation of railways during World War 2 and show their OO models of military trains.
