October 2009 Exhibition

Most entertaining layout 2009 - Copenhagen Fields
Each year our visitors vote for the Keith Purbrook Trophy for the most appealing layout.
This year the glory went to the MRC of London, with their 2mm finescale tour de force "Copenhagen Fields".

Not too many stands - room to move
We aim for plenty of trade interest, without loosing the space to circulate and view the models in comfort
- including easy wheelchair access

Time to talk, exchange ideas and learn
At least 3 or 4 club members are available on "Club Corner to demonstrate modelling techniques and answer questions.
We display sections of those club layouts which are not operating this year, showing details of construction and wiring etc.
We're also not too proud to learn ourselves if you have some tips to pass on!

Copenhagen Fields
This layout shows just how much impact a small scale can make, especially in presenting a railway within a landscape.
In this case part of North London on the approaches to Kings Cross

Each year we try to bring together a range of layout styles, periods and scales, in order to provide both entertainment and inspiration.

Those little details....

A detail from the 009 Bryn Y Felin
Railway modelling is often about more than just the trains. It is the little details that often help give life to our layouts

This gallery shows a selection of detailed scenes spotted on layouts at this year's show.
